In addition to his successful playing career (Dave held a top 20 national ranking, and later was the 1999 Texas sectional champion in the men’s 35 and over), under the leadership of Stephen Smith, Dave was on the staff that created the world’s first college curriculum for training coaches heading for a career in tennis.
Numerous awards that Dave Anderson has received include the USPTA Pro of the Year in Texas; the Dallas Tennis Association Pro Volunteer of the Year; and the coveted Lloyd Session Educational Merit Award for his contributions to junior tennis.
Dave Anderson’s innovative and unique approach to player development has helped his students capture state sectionals, national, international, and junior grand slam titles. Many of his students become touring tennis professionals and successful collegiate players. Perhaps the most important influence of Dave Anderson’s coaching and watchful eye is the manner in which he prepares his students for success both on and off the court by enhancing their lifetime skills and character development. Dave Anderson is one of those special people that the game of tennis is lucky to have. |
